Amcomri Film Partners, the financing arm of Amcomri Entertainment Inc (“AMG”), has confirmed the provision of $1m of emergency bridge funding to the Producers of “Rabid”, a remake of David Cronenberg’s 1977 film, following a delay in the receipt of production funds from other sources.

101 Films International, the global distribution arm of AMG has also provided $250,000 of downstream distribution guarantees and will take on the global distribution rights for the completed movie.

Michael Walker, Producer, said “The unbelievably fast response of Amcomri Film Partners to our bridge requirements saved the film. Their global distribution reach through 101 Films International meant that we were able to not only make the movie but secure an excellent distribution partner at the same time. Their team is great to work with and the reputation of 101 and their partners around the world creates a unique one-stop solution in the market.”

Paul McGowan, Chairman of AMG, said “We have known Michael Walker for a number of years, so we were happy to approve the bridge funding for this production. With our distribution background our team is confident that “Rabid” will sell well in the international markets that we work in.”

Amcomri Film Partners has also recently provided production funding for the forthcoming Nicolas Cage movie, “10-Double Zero” as well as “Disturbing the Peace” starring Guy Pearce.
