Abacus Media Rights, a member of the Amcomri Entertainment Group, has appointed Will Stapley as Head of Acquisitions across both scripted and unscripted programming.
Will has worked in international distribution for twelve years in acquisitions and sales in all territories worldwide. As Head of Acquisitions and Partnerships for TVF International since 2016, Will has been responsible for managing and developing the acquisitions and content partnerships strategy across all programme genres. He has acquired more than 2,000 hours of programming from award-winning producers across the globe and regularly assisted with deficit financing and co-productions, in addition to advising on international edits and is Executive Producer on several recent productions.
Prior to this, Will spent six years heading up the TVF Asia Pacific Team where he oversaw sales, acquisitions and partnerships across the region, brokering various financing, format and coproduction deals.
Recent acquisitions by AMR, which will be launched at MIPCOM in October, include the unique feature documentary The Ghost of Richard Harris, a Bright Yellow Films, Samson Films and Groove International productions; Maxine, a true crime drama which examines the investigation of school assistant Maxine Carr and her involvement in the tragic Soham murder case that shocked the nation from Clapperboard Studios; The Frontier, a six part series exploring the legends, events and folklore of the American frontier, produced by Dash Pictures and Amcomri Productions and Downfall of the Porn King: The Ron Jeremy Story from BriteSpark Films – a compelling two-part documentary exploring the rise and fall of the world’s biggest porn star.
